FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are the tapestries made? The tapestries are woven in mostly in France, some come from Belgium.
Are the tapestries hand made? A tapestry is actually a woven textile, not an embroidery, and is made on a jacquard loom. Today the looms are mechanised, unlike the old, very slow hand operated looms. Unfortunately there is sometimes a confusion people say they do tapestries when in fact they are doing needlework, or needlepoint. The use of the word tapestry, describing needlework, probably arose because at one time, the stitch today called tent stitch was also called tapestry stitch.
